In 2014 publisher, Cross Cult, released Licence Renewed - John Gardner's debut 007 novel - translated into German. Almost a decade later, in December 2023, the publisher will wrap up its complete coverage of the Gardner era. Gardner's run lasted 15 years, from 1981 to 1996. Over the last nine years, 11 of the 14 Gardner original Bond stories have been re-published in Germany with unique cover art by Michael Gillette. Gillette previously illustrated the 14 Fleming covers for the 2008 centenrary release. His original art was so well received that limited edition prints of the covers were made available to buy.

Recently, Cross Cult relevealed the draft cover art for "Kalt" (Cold AKA Cold Fall), the final original novel from Gardner, first released in 1996. "Kalt" will be released in Germany on 4 December 2023.
