The Aston Martin DB5 was in action in Matera, Italy today

James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 was in action today in Matera, Italy for the pre-title sequence filming for 'No Time To Die' (Bond 25). Well telegraphed ahead of the event by the local authorities, who had to close streets for the shoot around the town's biggest square, crowds gathered behind the blockade of buses and barriers to watch the most famous car in the world.
Lotus Productions, the local Italian company working on the film with EON Productions, supervised the location shoot. Stunt doubles for Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux were spotted in the car as it skidded through the Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Interestingly, Bond has switched his licence plate from the usual 'BMT 216A' to 'A 4269 00" whilst in Italy.
Multiple DB5s were used for filming, with one having a camera mounted to the wing of the car. Both had 'battle damage' scrapes from earlier in the sequence (yet to be filmed), but these also had the now-familiar dot markings, indicating that it was merely cosmetic and to be matched in post-production later. A villain's black Triumph motorcycle was also spotted on location, which was chasing Bond in the stunt filmed on the bridge a few days ago.
