Mexico City is readying for 007's arrival, with shooting scheduled to start on March 20th in the city's historic centre

Pre-production work has begun in earnest in Mexico City, the next location on 007's globetrotting adventure. Tacuba Street will be closed, along with nearby Allende Metro Station to accommodate the crew as they shoot on the location between 20-24th March.
To ready the location additional structures are being assembled on the roof of some of Mexico City's historic buildings, as well as some work on the facade of a building, which until 2011 was used by Mexico's Senate of the Republic. It is understood that the entire area will be closed off from Saturday until the filming is completed.
The nature of the shoot, and Mexico's role in SPECTRE is yet to be confirmed, but it is widely expected to serve as part of the pre-titles sequence. Recently, Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman was cast in the role of Estrella, who will be aiding Bond on his mission in Mexico. Sigman had the lead role in the Academy Awards nominated "Miss Bala" (2011) and also starred in Norway's submission for Best Film at this year's Oscars, "Pioneer" (2013).
According to reports from the local press, the Bond production will have unprecedented access to national landmarks organised by the National Institute of Fine Arts with permission from the Senate itself.
Before moving on to Mexico, work is being completed in Rome, Italy and on location in Whitehall, London.

SPECTRE (2015) is the new James Bond film and the 24th in the series. It will be the fourth outing for Daniel Craig as 007, and the second film to be directed by Sam Mendes from a screenplay by John Logan, Neal Purvis & Robert Wade. The new MI6 team of Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear (Tanner) and Ben Whishaw (Q) are all reprising their roles. The cast will include Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott and Christoph Waltz. Production commences on December 8th 2014, with location work as early as 5th January 2015 in Austria. The film will also shoot on location in: Erfoud and Tangier, Morocco; Rome, Italy and Mexico City, Mexico. SPECTRE is scheduled for release on 7th November 2015.
